About Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 was a major player in the seventh generation, offering HD gaming, Xbox Live, and a massive library of games.
Some History
The Xbox 360 quickly gained a market advantage, thanks to its well-established Xbox Live online gaming network and an early launch—arriving a full year before its competitors. Strong sales persisted in North America and Europe, even after the Wii and PlayStation 3 entered the market. However, similar to its predecessor, the Xbox 360 struggled in Japan, largely due to a lack of titles catering to Japanese gamers. Despite its head start, the console ultimately finished third in global sales.
Microsoft focused on delivering blockbuster games to cement the Xbox 360's presence, notably expanding the Halo franchise. At the 2007 Game Critics Awards, the console dominated with 38 nominations and 12 wins—more than any other platform. By the 2008 Game Developers Conference, Microsoft anticipated surpassing 1,000 available titles by year's end. The Xbox 360 also secured simultaneous releases for several major games originally intended as PlayStation 3 exclusives, including Devil May Cry, Ace Combat, Virtua Fighter, Grand Theft Auto IV, Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and L.A. Noire.
